Barrel cam mechanism
The Pulse Core uses a barrel cam mechanism to produce the required motion. Here is a 3D view of that mechanism which you can explore. This was generated using FreeCAD.
The core of the Pulse consists of a barrel cam mechanism which provides a powerful ~90N snapping force motion by storing charged energy in three heavily tensioned springs.
Here are a few very incomplete concept builds for the core. The one with the zip tie holding it together is the only one which is partially functional, however it has a very early version of the barrel cam mechanism which has lots of unecessary friction in its design and tends to rip itself apart if the zip tie is not there.
